Balcony Membrane Waterproofing – We are often contacted by clients asking how they can do the job of waterproofing their terrace or balcony themselves. It is not a difficult job if we look at four very basic tips. Over time the tiles or original terrazzo wear, the joints lose their properties and begin to appear leaks and humidity to the lower floor.

It is best to use a pressure washer type “Kärcher” or similar. It is about removing all moss, algae, dust, sand or small chips of tile.
If there are traces of stagnant water, moss or similar on the ground, we recommend the application of detergent for roofing facades and floors of Antihumedades, which will kill all the roots and spores that may remain before applying the balcony membrane waterproofing treatment. If we have the slight suspicion that it is possible that there are capillaries or transpiration of the surface that we are waterproofing, we recommend the application of a vapor barrier. The vapor barrier is a primer that, in addition to improving grip on surfaces of low adhesion.
